Most often women have a normal monthly period and men have a good sperm count, however, when failing to get pregnant, it is advisable to visit your family physician if you are concerned with fertility problems. Aside from determining that there may be a fertility problem, the best way to get pregnant has to do with the woman paying attention to her menstrual cycle, especially noting the time of ovulation.

In a poll called “Reading Across the Nation: A Chartbook,” conducted by the UCLA Center for Healthier Children, Families, and Communities for the nonprofit Reach Out and Read National Center, as put forth in an article dated November 1, 2007, by the University of California, “the national average of parents that read to their children is 47.8%.” As if those statistics are not alarming enough, the article quotes Dr. Neal Halfon, director of the Center for Healthier Children, Families, and Communities as saying, “…states reporting the lowest rates of reading also report lower reading proficiency rates among their fourth-graders…” The poll focused on children from birth to age five.

In the modern world, we have become lost and disconnected. We are sort of like isolated particles floating around in a vast space, trying to bring some sort of meaning to our meaningless existence. The school year is fast approaching and for some of you, it has already started. Fall is a time of many new beginnings.
